Meet  2019 Participants

Alina Gorlova

Director, writer, and film editor. Born and raised in Ukraine, she graduated from Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and Television. In addition to her focus as a documentary director, Alina is also experienced in making fiction shorts, and social and commercial ads. Her second documentary No Obvious Signs won multiple awards, including the MDR film award for outstanding Eastern European Movie at at DokLeipzig 2018. Alina was a 2019 Berlinale Talents and CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator participant.

Anđelka Vujinović

Since 1999, Anđelka is active as a theatre actor and director.

She graduated in Film and TV Directing, Dunav Film Academy, Belgrade.

Works as an organizer and producer at the National Broadcasting Company of Serbia.

As well, she co-funds independent theatre group Ensemble Mirage and Theatre and Film school TeatarPoesia, realizing numerous lectures, workshops, performances, films and “video diaries” — visual reflections on reality, herself and passage of time.

Andrea Gautier

Andrea Gautier.jpg

Born in Madrid in 1980.

Since 2011, she produces fiction and documentary films, talking about arts, culture, and society (Malpartida Fluxus Village. Best documentary in Festival de Alcances 2015 or Tanger Gool selected in Seminci of Valladolid 2015).

That year she participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus as a producer. Celluloid Nymphs will be her first feature film codirecting with Tabatta Salinas (México D.F.,1982).

Anna Savchenko

Anna is a Belarusian filmmaker based in Brussels, where she graduated with the MA of Arts in Documentary Film Directing.

Her film I am Not Here was awarded as a label film of DocNomads.

She co-directed the film God’s mistake, which won awards at many international film festivals, collaborated on the documentary Kalès, that was in mid-length competition of IDFA and won grandprix at FATP festival in 2017.

She is now working as director and editor for Borderline series produced by Off World production.

Charlie Chauchi

Charlie Cauchi.jpg

Charlie is an artist, filmmaker and researcher.

Her transmedia project Latitude 36 formed part of Malta’s European Capital of Culture programme in 2018. The project included the documentary short, From Malta to Motor City, which focuses on the Maltese diaspora in Michigan, USA.

Charlie’s collaborates with a variety of directors and writers to create short and feature-length films through her Malta-based production company Sajjetta.

Federica Martino

Born in Rome, Federica Martino graduated from NYU Tisch School of The Arts in 1995 with a major in directing for Film and TV.

She has written and directed the feature film Beauty Queen Olivia, directed the film L’Ultima Battuta (Crimini TV series) broadcasted on Rai 2 and the documentary Little Italy Past Present and Future broadcasted by PBS titled.

She is currently working on two features films and one documentary.

Joanna Janikowska

Joanna Janikowska is a polish director and cinematographer. Author of short documentaries and TV reportages.

Participant of Doc Lab Poland and Women Doc Circle Accelerator.

Alumna of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in the Humanities at Warsaw University, receipient of two scholarships in Italy.

She learned filmmaking in practice working on sets of such directors as Piotr Stasik (i.e. 21 x New York nominated for European Film Awards).

Lee Nechushtan

MFA graduate of Tel Aviv University Film and TV studies. Writer and director of four short films, granted four funds; The Rabinovich Foundation, Eli Gelfand Foundation, Snunit and more.

Featured in international festivals.

An independent content consultant for scripts and projects in collaboration with Topia Communications production company. Developing a full-length documentary Two Sisters, through two international labs: ESoDoc and Circle Women Doc Accelerator 2019.

Asia Der

Asia Dér graduated as a documentary director from the DOCnomads MA program.

Her graduation film was nominated for the best short film in the 2nd Hungarian Film Week.

Currently she is doing her PhD in art and working on two feature length documentaries. She participated with her films at ZagrebDox Pro, EURODOC and the Sarajevo Rough Cut Boutique.
