CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator in Novi Sad (14-19 June)

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

The fifth edition of CIRCLE - Women Doc Accelerator kicks off with a lineup of ten new projects. The first Module is taking place in Novi Sad, Serbia from the 14th to the 19th of June, which will be followed by events in Croatia and Trieste's When East Meets West. Through these five years, CIRCLE has established itself as one of the leading platforms for the professional development of filmmakers in Europe. Among the partners hosting various segments of the program are When East Meets West in Trieste and Cannes Docs - Marché du Film.

For this year's edition, we hand picked ten participants to develop their projects in a protected and inspiring environment. Through three intense work sessions, they will have the opportunity to collaborate with reputable filmmakers and professionals in order to improve their projects and professional skills, but also to develop sustainable business models and make connections within the global documentary film network.

SYNOPSIS: Republic of Silence bears witness to a tragedy on an epic scale, accompanied by an ever-expanding mosaic of fragile, deeply embedded moments from Diana El Jeiroudi’s life, beginning with the memory from the age of seven when her father gives her a camera, right up to the present day. An orderly life in Berlin competes with a life in Damascus, which is ravaged by war.
